4.   At their first meeting after the Annual Election, the Board of Elders shall choose a chairman for that year.

 

5.   No limit shall be set to the number of Elders who may serve simultaneously.

 

  1. FINANCIAL BOARD:  The Financial Board shall oversee areas of ministry and business as assigned by the elders. 

 

  1. DEACONS:

 

1.   The qualifications for the office of Deacon are as follows:

 

a.   He must be a man who is an active Member of the Church.

 

b.   He must satisfy God�s requirements as set forth in I Timothy 3:8-13.  In particular he must have proven his character and ability through service in the Church (I Timothy 3:10).

 

2.   The Board of Deacons shall be responsible for the following:

 

a.   To administer the Benevolent Fund In conjunction with the Board of Deaconesses.

           

b.   The development and maintenance of the physical properties of the Church under the authority of the Board of Elders.

 

c.   To train and maintain an adequate number of ushers.

 

d.  Select a representative to the Financial Board.

3.   A Deacon shall hold office for a term of two (2) years, at the end of which time he shall be eligible for re-election.  Approximately one-half of the Deacons shall be elected annually.

 

4.   The number of Deacons serving on the Board shall be determined by the perceived needs of the Body and the number of qualified persons with a heart to serve.  This determination will be made annually by the nominating committee in consultation with the Board of Elders.

 

5.   Any vacancies occurring during the year may be filled by appointment of the Board of Elders.  That appointment would be effective until the next Annual Election.

 

2.      Any concerns to the Board of Elders shall be channeled through the representative of the Deacon Board.

 

 

 

 

  1. DEACONESSES:

1.   The qualifications for the office of Deaconess are as follows:

 

a.   She must be a woman who is an active Member of the Church.

 

b.   She must satisfy God�s requirements as set forth in I Timothy 3:11.  In particular she must have proven her character and ability through service in the Church.

 

2.   The Board of Deaconesses shall be responsible for the following:

 

a.   In conjunction with the Board of Deacons:

 

      1.   To administer the Benevolent Fund.

 

b.  Select a representative to the Financial Board.

 

c.   To prepare the elements for the Lord�s Supper.

 

d.   To visit and minister to the sick, elderly, and the needy.

 

e.   To be available to the Pastor for help in special events or emergencies.

 

f.    To train and maintain an adequate number of Hostesses.
