Sunday September 12th

The Mission Mexico Team and

Renee’ Simon will share their summer Experiences and several more people will be baptized during CBH.

Welcome to Yakima & Yakima Alliance Church

Jonathan & Naomi, Caleb, Ruth, Sarah and Grace

The Langford’s arrived to their new home on Wednesday afternoon after traveling many miles from Lexington, Kentucky. Jonathan’s first official day is September 1st and will be preaching on September 5th. They are so very grateful for the outpouring of blessing bestowed upon them in the furnishing and supplying of their home. Your generosity has been a great testimony to their landlord and neighbors. They look forward to meeting and getting to know all of our church family in the days and weeks ahead.

Youth Groups Restart

Wednesday, September 8th!

Wednesday nights will be better than ever as we launch back into our new Fall schedule. Be sure to be there as we take a look back at the summer and a look forward to the good things that are coming.

Fall Quarter activity calendars are available in the foyer and the youth center. Make plugging in a priority and get set to grow!

What’s New for Fall?

Starting September 5th we have several new options for our Sunday worship time. We will continue to gather as a congregation for worship from 9:30-10:45 AM. Children and Youth will be dismissed to Community Bible Hour (CBH) immediately after the service but our adults will be invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and touching base with one another. A group of very creative people has been given the task of transforming the Fellowship Hall into a much warmer and inviting place to be. When completed, the Fellowship Café’ or some other such name, will be open right after the worship service until 12:45PM or later. We hope to have an espresso machine available to serve our guests complimentary cups of good coffee as well as pastries and goodies. The primary idea is to create a physical space where people are encouraged to converse and get to know one another better. Less formal instruction like a Pastor's Welcome Class could also meet in this area. Adult CBH will commence at 11:00 and end at the normal noon hour. We are also making a Care group time available at 11:00 AM that will end around 12:45. This will be to accommodate those who want to be in a Care group but need childcare provided and/or don’t have another preferred time during the week to meet. To accommodate those in Care groups meeting Sunday morning that have children, we will be offering special children’s and youth ministry options to start after CBH. These have not been officially confirmed yet but might include music and drama instruction. If you would like to be involved in ministering to our children and youth in some capacity for about 45 minutes from noon to 12:45, talk to Pastor Mark or Pastor Jim.

40 Days of Purpose

IT’S GETTING CLOSER!! This Fall, our church will be participating in a 40 Days of Purpose Campaign, which will run for seven weekends beginning September 26 and ending November 21. This spiritual growth Campaign is designed to answer life’s most important question: “What on earth am I here for?” The events of the Campaign will give us opportunities to commit to habits of spiritual growth, memorize scripture, participate in a care group and/or Sunday School fellowship, serve in a ministry in our church, share our faith, and learn to live a lifestyle of worship to the glory of God. We are excited as we envision our entire congregation living in alignment with God’s purposes for their lives, and the impact this could have on our church and our community!

We have 23 host homes identified already but need many more. It is a simple, but vital ministry. All that is needed is a TV and VCR and a willingness to watch God work. If interested complete a blue host home sign up card located at Grand Central and put in the offering or Pastor Mark’s box. If you want to participate as a group member complete a yellow group sign up card located at Grand Central and in your bulletin and put in the offering or Pastor Mark’s box.

Be praying now for those you want to invite to be a part of your 40 Days of Purpose Group.

See You At The Pole

September 15th students across our nation and around the world will be gathering to pray. They’ll pray for their school, their teachers and staff, their government… God has used this yearly event to help Christian kids identify other students that share the same faith in Jesus Christ and witness to students who don’t know him yet.

The generic start time is 7am, but have your kids check with other Christian students on their campus regarding the time for their school. Offer to give them a ride that day!

Children's Ministry

If you are interested in finding out more about our various ministries to children at Yakima Alliance Church plan on attending a breakfast, Sunday morning September 12th from 8—9:15 AM . Find out what’s new and what’s coming in the near future.

Childcare

Is God prompting you to welcome and serve our children in some way? A great place to start is volunteering one Sunday per quarter to help care for our children during our worship time. Join the many in our body who serve this way. Your small part touches the lives and hearts of our children, our parents, and Jesus.

Men, women, and youth ages 6th grade and up are encouraged to respond. You may use the registration insert in your bulletin, contact Mark Washam at 966-9111, or email the church office.
